Smith and Wesson Dynamic Crossbody Review
I am always hunting for a new purse to add to my collection. I usually go with the larger handbags to have room for all my “things” (aka junk). However, the Smith and Wesson Dynamic Crossbody sold by Cameleon Bags is the newest addition to my closet, although it is smaller in size, it did not disappoint.
Appearance
How does it look?
The Smith and Wesson Dynamic Crossbody is a 100% genuine leather, and is available in blue, black and tan. On the exterior of the purse the brass hardware adds an elegant flare. The main compartment is enclosed with a leather over-flap, and secures to the front with a magnetic snap. The concealed carry compartment measures 9.25″ x 6.5 ” and is ambidextrous accessible with dual zippers. Attaching with brass clasps is an adjustable leather strap. It allows for traditional of crossbody carry with measurements of .75″ wide and 25.5″ to 48″ inches in length.
Is it easy to care for?
The Dynamic Crossbody is 100% cow leather. Like most leather products you want to avoid getting this purse wet. A few little rain sprinkles won’t hurt it but like most leathers it may no recover well from a monsoon. Also, with the handbag being leather you may find scuffs and scratches, to treat these blemishes use a rag and a leather polish.
Functionality
Is it concealable?
Yes, a firearm is concealable in the Dynamic Crossbody. On the backside of the handbag is the concealed carry compartment. A common concern when carrying concealed is imprinting. Imprinting is when the shape or outline of a firearm can be seen through the material meant to conceal it. The compartment is line with extra padding and material to prevent imprinting.
Is it easy to use?
The short answer is ‘yes’ this handbag is easy to use. The Dynamic Crossbody easily conceals a compact or sub-compact firearm. The challenge in using this handbag is when it comes to drawing your firearm. Learning to safely and effectively draw your firearm from this handbag can be accomplished with ample and regular practice time.
Is it comfortable?
Yes, I do find the Dynamic Crossbody comfortable to carry. Obviously, the more you load up the handbag the heavier it will be. As a result the more uncomfortable it can be. I carry my keys, phone, wallet, glasses, and a subcompact pistol inside my handbag and find the weight to be comfortable. However, I carry my handbag in the crossbody position, therefore making it more pleasant to carry.
Does it work as it is intended?
Yes, the handbag functions as it is intended. The concealed carry compartment is easily accessible by dual zippers that are smooth running. Furthermore, inside the compartment the firearm holster securely attaches to the side of the handbag and does not move during normal use.
Is it easy to access?
The answer to this question is different for each user. While the concealed carry compartment is easily accessible, the zippers do not promote quick access. However, any holster, purse, belly band etc. requires regular practice drawing your firearm.
Can it be used in different positions?
Yes, this handbag can be carried in a traditional or crossbody position. On the other hand, it was designed to be carried in a crossbody position. Balance, stability, and security are a result when carrying in the crossbody position.

Wrapping it Up
The quality of this handbag is what stands out to me the most. The leather is stunning with a dynamic distressed finish. The zippers are stable and glide smoothly on their tracks. After several months of regular day to day use the handbag maintained is original shape. Somehow I made it through several months with only one or two scratches that I was able to blend in with leather polish. As mentioned before I often buy larger handbags to carry from day to day. However I found this down-size did me well. It is the perfect size to carry my basics wallet, phone, glasses, keys, and (of course) my sub compact firearm (Sig Saur P365).
Although my overall experience with Smith and Wesson’s Dynamic Crossbody was great there are a few things I would change about this handbag to make it perfect. First, I would like for it to have a thicker, wider strap. With that being, the strap it comes with is removeable and I found some really cute ones on Amazon to replace it. Secondly, I would like the snap on the front to be more aggressive. I found the snap to be a little finicky and difficult to secure.
Overall is a great quality handbag and it does the concealed carrying job well. In addition like mentioned before to successfully conceal carry with the handbag I recommend regular drawing practice with an unloaded firearm. Off body carry is not for everyone but it can be done correctly with practice using the Dynamic Crossbody.
